Jon Ossoff Loss: It Ain't Over -- Not By a Long Shot
So Jon Ossof lost to Karen Handel. Here’s some tough love: We need to get over it. There’s too much work to do. In my family, we tell a family member when they suffer a setback: “You’ve got 20 minutes to wallow in self pity. Then figure out your next step.” (We’re kind of a tough love family.)
And advice from a former Mainstream Media journalist (me): Stop reading the MSM for a few days while they dance on the “grave” of the Resistance. We’re not dead. Not by a long shot. There are too many of us. We’re working hard, and we’re working smart.
If you need motivation, watch the clip of Kenneth Branagh’s stirring version of the St. Crispin’s Day speech in the Shakespeare masterpiece Henry V as his outnumbered English army prepares to face the French. It doesn’t quite fit our situation, but Branagh’s delivery will rouse anyone to action.
If you’re not comfortable with the war, weapons and manliness thing, then there’s this clip of an old broad who suffered her share of setbacks and rejection. We all know Bette Davis’ famous quote from the movie All About Eve: “Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.”
Let us know your thoughts and your next steps. Mine is attending the Women's Summit: Flip Virginia Blue on Saturday, June 24, for some great learning, networking and motivation. I'm fastening my seatbelt.
